Many beginners to meditation, without proper understanding of the process, experience mainly their thoughts, they say, oh, ‘I’m having too many thoughts, this meditation is not working for me’. But, the truth is, your meditation is working, for these thoughts are meant to surface into mind. So, here we must not judge or wish these thoughts away. The thoughts represent the active content of one’s subconscious mind. Thus surfacing thoughts are a part of the necessary purifying or integratory process, therefore, having thoughts in meditation is not a problem. They’re meant to surface so that they don’t form yet another layer of subconscious conditioning for future action in our life. Sporadic past experiences are means of mastering the nomadic lower-ego. They’re necessary for training the undisciplined intellect into becoming steady, resolute in one-pointedness.
Meditation practice ideally involves a mantra: hearing a vibratory word-sound but without thinking about the word-sound. And when the mind wanders — which it will – we simply become aware of the drift and return to the word-sound. Thus, our job in meditation is to notice that we’ve drifted from mantra and bring the mind gently back to it. And even though the intention to meditate is there, it’s not possible for a beginner to simply close the eyes and bliss-out immediately. In a twenty-minute session, drifting and returning to the mantra can happen many times. But gradually, mastering the scattered mind /intellect becomes a delightful reality.
In this regard, meditation initially is about being aware that the intellect has drifted then returning each time to hearing the mantra. This returning can be to either hearing our mantra sound or, to a point between the eyebrows or returning to watching the breathing at the nostrils – this ‘nostril watching’ is simply watching the body breathing it-self independent of our effort. For, that which is breathing the body is the universal life-force, the God-force which created the entire physical universe and everything in it.
Cave Silence Orientation
My beginners to the practice also do not experience the bliss of silence, of this universal life-force until some degree of intellect mastery has been achieved, until the mind becomes gradually acclimatized to silence and stillness.
For example, if we entered a dark cave straight from midday sunlight, we wouldn’t expect to see anything in the cave until our vision became gradually orientated to the cave’s darkness and its eerie chilled silence. So too with meditation. We can’t expect to experience pure silence straight away through a mind filled with anxiety and fear, without awareness of the present moment. Thus, disciplining the programmed-to-wandering mind to withstand Now-Silence and mental stillness is necessary at first.
Experientially, bliss, silence and the now are one and the same spiritual dynamic, experienced as One.
To this spiritual Oneness being, meditation represents a complete turnabout from outer sensory activity to inner silence and stillness. The process disciplines the conditioned intellect to resolute unwavering status, from objective surface mind to subjective transcendental soul silence.
Meditational transcendence is the conduit to the divine, the afterlife. To this end, the nervous system needs to undergo a renewal process or, purification, for its the nervous system which carries the universal life-force throughout the entire body.
Transcendental Silence being the purifying dynamic which initiates bliss-flow through the physiology, is a crucial knowing for expression of afterlife-nature in this incarnation and beyond, when a capacity of ‘fully let go’ to controlling life, in all its inner and outer phases, is paramount.
Life-Changing Event
A life-changer event, transformation of the nervous system facilitates the experiencing of two states of consciousness simultaneously: relative life existence and the absolute or afterlife-nature. Thus, one’s afterlife nature is experienced and relatable within consciousness during relative life. But, by not realizing this, many may be referring to afterlife by a different name such as cosmic consciousness, or Christ-consciousness. Thus, through insufficient understanding, many place this afterlife event in the future, when, in real terms, afterlife is referring to life after relative time which is gained now, in relative life, by means of transcendence. Thus, to experience Heart-Nature purely, the nervous system must be capable of withstanding the stillness of absolute nature established during transcendence meditation.
Contacting the Universal Life-Force
So, experiencing the universal life-force commences with entering into mind-silence, which calm-full silence rises to transcendental silence. With steady practice, transcendental silence triggers the life-force — known in Yoga as kundalini — housed at the base of the spine – biblically phrased:
‘Jesus said (established law) He would send the holy spirit’– Acts 2
(Jesus represents the life principal which triggers the kundalini life-force up the spine to enter the heart chakra).
Absence of conscious contact with this life-force is termed spiritual ignorance. This ignorance exposes the nervous system and conscious mind /intellect to error living, to suffering-attraction due to residual subconscious fear and living through non-integrated mind-sets, through non-spiritualized thought patterns.
The purpose thus of each human life on earth is to inner awaken and integrate this subconscious ignorance thus becoming aware in I-AM status. Awakening out of this born-into ignorance becomes one’s sole and primary mission on earth.
To this end, our first port of call is stilling and calming the conscious mind through our chosen mantra or chosen technique. The practice hones the intellect to convergence thence to transcendence and expanded awareness when I-AM status becomes realized as one’s Higher-Self.
Biblical Means of Entering the Afterlife Experience. Now
Here it’s important to remember that, all of scripture’s sayings are describing transformational events within each person on contact with the universal life-force. The biblical stories are all relating one’s inner journey to spiritual Enlightenment, and are not meant to be taken literally.
So, with this in mind:
‘No one comes to the Father (experience Higher-Self) except through Me (universal life-force Principle within person, biblically termed, Jesus or Me)’ – John 14–6
This beautiful scripture reveals the all-vital message, that of transcending time, space and causation, thereby gaining purity of inner faculties, leading to transformation of consciousness that we may know or experience the Father, the Afterlife, now.
Here, the word ‘Me’ is referring to Jesus as the holy spirit, to pure love, to kundalini bliss. The verse is emphasizing the importance of this alchemizing energy rising up through the central column of spine and then passing through the Heart chakra and onwards to the brain and crown chakra. The scripture is declaring that God-Nature can only be experienced through God-Nature It-self, which nature must be awakened within by ourselves.
‘No eye has seen nor ear heard what God has prepared for believers’ – 1 Corinthians 2–9
The scripture is saying: God-Nature cannot be known through the conditioned mind or contaminated five senses but, through the Heart awakening to unconditional love.
In other words, as God is pure unconditional love, thus we cannot expect to know God through a state of consciousness less than this.
‘Heart’ in scripture is referring to transcendental consciousness. Thus, the above scripture is emphasizing the imperative of becoming heart-centred, when our consciousness transforms into God-Nature Itself, thereby know God-Nature directly, know afterlife standard now. And because God-Nature knows no ending it carries on after physical life eternally.
The scripture lesson is stating, that, establishing Heart-Nature consciousness is prerequisite to ‘knowing the Father’, knowing the afterlife while here on earth.
The theme of the following scripture is also regards afterlife-nature awakening by means of transcendence:
‘Transfiguration (consciousness undergoing spiritual transformation) of Jesus on the mount’ — Mark 9
(Jesus represents kundalini in flow within consciousness) on the Mount is referring to one’s consciousness reaching its highest point: realizing Transcendent Being AS our own consciousness.
Birthing the Afterlife Now
In order to appreciate the full impact of gaining afterlife-consciousness, let us evaluate the understanding behind unconditional love and its intended nature. Having become transcendentally aware, the awareness needs to now establish itself as heart-centred awareness, it must ‘root’ at the Heart 4th chakra to await kundalini pollination thus establishing unconditional love familiarization as heart-centred consciousness, as unconditional eternal love. In other words, one’s inner spiritual journey commences only when the awareness reaches the 4th chakra thus come upon experiential afterlife, and that we recognize this unconditional love AS eternal God-Nature – biblically depicted as ‘Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey’ – the donkey symbolizing the stubborn intellect, with Jesus representing the mastering-kundalini Principle.
Mastering the nomadic donkey or intellect, and its untamed behaviour, enables conservation of the all-vital seminal fluid. Instead of wasting this precious fluid in selfish sexual activity, the fluid is drawn upwards to ‘birth’ the new Heart-Beat of afterlife, signifying second-birth awareness. This divine love-pulse represents tangible beginnings of a new adventure in eternal consciousness, where established Heart love is prerequisite.
This pulsing of the 4th chakra, during meditation, stems from the thighs up to the heart chakra, takes place in an instant. If we remain perfectly still during the onset of bliss, we can experience the love pulse as waves of bliss.
The new pulse marks the conscious crossover point in our soul’s evolution to the eternal afterlife realm, of Unity with original Creator.
So, that, like the Salmon, swimming upstream against the flow, and finding its exact stream back to its original spawning pool, we too are encoded to finding the eternal birthing place of afterlife nature within, finding the means to Unconditional God-Love within AS our own heart-centred consciousness.
